Back To School Giveaway: Win a Panasonic vacuum
Of all the chores in the world, vacuuming is the one I least mind doing. I am not sure why; I guess it's gratifying to hear stuff clink-clink-clinking up the hose. Also, I like pushing things around. Sometimes, I dance a little while I vacuum, though that's never yet been caught on video, which Dave could easily use to blackmail me if he so chose.
I met a super-nice lady from Panasonic at an event a few months ago, and she let me try out a Jetspin Cyclone Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner. I like that it has a HEPA filter to remove allergens and pollutants. I like that you don't have to buy bags because it has a fully washable cup, to get out all the dirt. But what I love most is the infrared dirt sensor, which senses whether the vacuum is still cleaning. If the light is red, there's still stuff on the floor or carpet; if it's green, the area's clean. By the time I'm done with the rugs, I know they're clean.
Wouldn't it be great if someone invented a light that alerted you to when your five-year-old is about to have a temper tantrum, so you could brace yourself and/or run for cover? Just a thought.
Want to win your own Panasonic Jetspin Cyclone Bagless Vacuum (retail value $249.95)? Just leave a comment below about the chore you least mind doing—vacuuming, dishes, laundry, whatever.

i don't like taking the laundry to the basement and throwing it in the wash, but I do like folding the kids' clothes and putting it in their drawers. Their little clothes are so cute and it fills me with the sense of being a mom.
ReplyDeleteI least mind...washing and drying clothes. In less than 2 hours time and only about 5 minutes of "work" (loading into the washing, then loading into the dryer), I have a lovely pile of clean clothes.
ReplyDeleteNow, FOLDING laundry is another story... ;)
I least mind folding laundry, but for some reason I absolutely despise putting it away!

I never win anything but here I go anyway...The chore I don't mind doing is cleaning up the clutter and junk my family deposits all around the apartment, at the end of the day. I love that I can actually see the floor and that everything is put back in its right place where it belongs. It makes me happy...till the kids wake up again and then we start the cycle all over
ReplyDeleteI love doing dishes.

ReplyDeleteI like vacuuming, but hate moving the vacuum from upstairs to downstairs and would love to get this one so I would have one for each floor.

ReplyDeleteI least mind vacuuming because I love knowing my little one can crawl around and not have anything to put in her mouth or have dog hair all over her clothes.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with the laundry comments and I also love putting fresh sheets on the kids beds and having them say how great their beds smell.
liz_cuccinello2002@yahoo.com
I don't mined doing dishes. My late mother-in law, a goddess, used to say she liked doing dishes because she could pour any troubles down the drain. Works for me too.
ReplyDeleteAs for vacuums we have two either lame or with a broken belt we can no longer find a replacement for. Winning this one would be a mitvah,a blessing. I currently have everything crossed. What if I freeze like this? HELP
cglasshag@yahoo.com
I least mind...the little things that make a big difference in how the house looks without a lot of time investment. For example, I don't mind wiping down the counters, cleaning the bathroom, or cleaning the fridge.
ReplyDeleteI used to LOVE doing laundry, but haven't this year since we're in the Ronald McDonald House. Sharing laundry facilities isn't on my favorite list of things...but, next year, laundry will rank up there again!
ReplyDelete"liked" you on FB. :)
ReplyDeleteI least mind laundry when I'm at home. I make my husband vacuum with his shop vac. Sometimes he sucks up a sock or two but he feels manly shop vac-ing the house (I guess) and it is better than our regular vacuum.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go camping, I love to do dishes as it is the only time my hands get clean.
I follow on Blogger and my current vac is really lame, so here's hoping!
ReplyDeleteI have to go with vacuuming. It's an easy way to spruce up a room and make it seem cleaner than it is. People don't see dust as much as they can see crumbs and junk on the carpets.
ReplyDeletemomofabc at nycap.rr.com
I like vacuuming too. Sunshine, however, is not a fan and needs her brothers to protect her from the scary machine.
ReplyDeleteumm...any of it. I don't know how to get any of it done with a 5-week-old, active 2-year-old and my "special" 4-year old...umm, I think I'd say the 3-4 loads of laundry every day!
ReplyDeleteI'm subscribed to your feed on my google reader too, btw.
ReplyDeleteI love to dust my house of all the little dust bunnies that have found their way to my home!!

I actually do not mind doing the dishes. Not sure why. We have a dishwasher but only run it once a week, so I am the official dishwasher for the other days, which is fine by me.
ReplyDeletejisjt@yahoo.com
Hmm the chore that i don't mind would actually be cleaning bathrooms, weird i know right. but even as a kid i would trade my siblings on their bathroom saturday and do it for them while they did my chore. I guess It was a little bit of laziness (small room, most done sitting on the floor) and then mixed with the quietness and all the scrubbing (taking out frustration on the tub). To this day i still don't mind doing the bathrooms. My least favorite would have to be cleaning the fans.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy mowing the lawn -- you can see what you acocmplished, the weather is nice (I don't do it w/ extreme weather), I'm by myself, there is the physical aspect of walking and pushing.

Hi, I found you through the childhood stroke article on Parents.com. I pretty much hate all chores, but I suppose the one I detest the least would have to be washing dishes.
ReplyDeleteI also just followed you on Twitter and will Like on Facebook as well.
least mind doing? None of them! However, I suppose laundry would be near the top of the list. Cooking is probably number one since I actually enjoy that - when I have the time to do it right! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteHere's another for following you guys on google reader
ReplyDeleteAnd another for following on facebook!
ReplyDeleteThe ONLY household chore that I DO NOT mind doing is the laundry - I love the process of sorting it, washing and drying, then starting the week with clean everything - for me and both of my girls - my husband does his own. Otherwise - I DESPISE housework!!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, since I have "officially" been unemployed for 7 wks now, I am actually enjoying FINALLY getting the opportunity to clean/de-clutter my house. When you run the rat race everyday with school, kids, life, etc., you find you clean only what is necessary(and exposed). Now, it feels GOOD to clean up and finally get rid of all the old stuff (I just got rid of all the breast pump accessories-JJ is 3!!!). And, I can call TLC and tell them to remove my address from the wait list of the show HOARDERS-BURIED ALIVE. But...I could REALLY use that new swank vacuum to help me along with the process!!!!!
ReplyDeletecleaning the bathroom is most satisfying for me. using the vacuum would be a close tie but ours seem to not fully do the needed job.
ReplyDeletesaucyrev@yahoo.com
I don't mind doing the dishes. It usually means we've had a nice meal and gives me a chance to unwind and glance out the back window at the greenery or the weather.
ReplyDeleteI really don't like dealing with the masses of paper (and other project stuff) that comes home with the kids. I guess this is filing/picking up around the house, and it ranks right up there with disliking dishes. After so many years, I'm over the joy of washing dishes!
ReplyDeleteI am a subscriber.
ReplyDeleteWell, vacuuming is really it and I will tell you why. Mine sucks! LOL It has been repaired as best as can be by my loving hubby but it is old and has peices broken off and it is VERY hard to push. And when I do my kitchen floor even with hard surfaces setting it CHEWS up my floor! I have arthritis so it makes me ache pretty good after doing the house. Plus, it smells and let's out stuff and with asthma that isn't too much fun, either! So yeah, it is a pain-literally!

Certainly of all household tasks, vacuuming is the easiest. The others just have to be done over and over again. Vacuuming can have a day or two rest as necessary
ReplyDeleteI don't mind doing some of the laundry tasks like loading the washer and dryer. I don't really like the folding and putting away part.
