  5. I have used every single one of those, along with

-Don't make me tell you again!

-Someone's over-tired--do we need an early bedtime tonight?

-No kickball in the house! (Usually followed by Go outside and play!)

  6. Yeah. What Katy said. Though I'm not proud of how often I suggest, "Let's have a quiet contest!"

  7. So funny, Ellen! I can't admitt to any of them, yet, but I will say that I had all these preconceived notions about what I would do as a mother. Like, NO CANDY, Ever! But now, if Faith wants candy, I will gladly give it to her anytime of the day, if she will just put something in her mouth! LOL!

  8. "Because I said so" -- and "there are lots of things in life that aren't fair" are my top 2.

  9. Right now I'm particularly ashamed of using my kids' fixation on "the naughty list" in my favor. How can Santa, that jolly old soul, bring out the worst in a mother?

  10. Yeah, "Because I'm the mother" ranks pretty high. Also, "Just give it to him so he'll stop crying- what does it really hurt you?" And the scary frequency with which I count to ten or three, including "2, 2 and a half, 2 and three quarters..."

  14. Great one! I swore I'd never use the "Because I'm the parent and I make the rules" line, but I've used it many a time with Daniel. I've also counted to three and threatened to remove privileges with no intention of following through.

  20. I've never said 6 4 or 3.
1- My mom told me good parents dont resort to blackmail. 2- If you tell your children to do something, you jolly well better answer questions and 3- I doubt they are effective.

My favorite one is I love you. Its the one I love to say.

SN there isnt anything reasonable about 6 4 or 3. Like I said, good parents rarely resort to blackmail. Also when I'm angry I go get some needed sleep or a break. I find them more effective then blackmail or bullying.
