The British Paraorchestra sings True Colors. LOVE.

This is a just-released video of The British Paraorchestra and The Kaos Signing Choir for Deaf & Hearing Children singing True Colors.

The orchestra's goal is "to create a platform for the best and most able musicians with disability to perform and excel at the highest level." British Paralympic athletes participated in this song. The Choir includes kids of all abilities, ages 4 to 18. Both groups sang in the closing ceremony of this summer's Paralympic Games.

That mesmerizing electro-voice at the beginning and end of the track is Lyn Levett's, a music producer and tutor. She has cerebral palsy, and thanks to the miracles of tech can sing by operating her iPad with her nose. (Read more about the Paraorchestra musicians here.)

Proceeds from the sales of the single support the Paralympics GB team at the Sochi 2014 Winter games and benefit the Kaos Choir and the orchestra; you can download it for 99 cents at iTunes

How's that for holiday spirit.

  1. I saw this video and thought of Max.

You have probably already viewed this video but just in case you haven't I wanted to share it.

  2. I loved this video, and admit it made me all goose bumpy, but really. Where the heck are the captions? So much for accessibility, eh? They, of all people, should know better.

    1. If you go to you will find a subtitled version. Or for a signed and subtitled version

    2. Hi Paula, the video took a week to put together and then another week to do the subtitled and signed one. In the website is a version signed by one of the young gentleman in the video. As the mother of the young lad in the grey and red wheelchair I promise you that this organization us truly all about inclusion and access and the best for everyone. The delay was just a time thing. Kind regards.

  3. Hi Paula there is a captioned version on you tube and if you go the kaos organisation website there is a signed a captioned version. Hester (proud mum of a Kaos choir member!)xx

  4. Thankyou for sharing this, just beautiful. Goose bumps and bawling now! Loved it!

  5. Hester, Could you please post a link to the captioned and signed version? I looked, but couldn't find it. Thanks.

  6. Hi Paula, yes if you go to you will see it and why not check out some of the the other signed songs one of my favourites is 'respect' which the choir performed whilst welcoming some of the paraolympian teams to London! Hesterxx

  7. My daughter also sang in the choir and we desperately want to get in the charts - we've heard that there are some big celebrity and media backed christmas charity singles coming out next week so true colours is going need a lot of support from us mere mortals to get noticed. I've just posted on Mumsnet - if any of you want to go on and back what I've said or have other ideas for how we can get it go viral PLEASE DO!

Thanks for sharing!
