  1. Stories tend to play well on the big screen if they have orientation; conflict/change/growth and resolution. a little bit of authenticity and inclusive representation help also.

    FOr example, West Side Story could not have been about African Americans and Chinese Americans in the time and place it was and with the writers and producers. I have a feeling the lyricist and the musician sympathized with the Jets because of their own experiences.

    In disability in particular Tom Couser talked about THE COMIC PLOT.
