    In 2015 Australian surfer Owen Wright had sustained a stroke.

    Over the past eight years he has been rebuilding his career - and then thinking about the end of it and what he is going to do next.

    He also wrote an autobiography about his father and family.

    In the Wright family there is a lot of dementia.

    And being a grommet [neophyte surfer] brings you to concussion more often than not.

    Also I have been reading a lot about gardening through Anne Helen Petersen's GARDEN STUDY and learning a lot about Californian native plants [some of which cover similar niches in tropical; subtropical; temperate and cold climates].

    So the Simons article fit in really well with this concern.

    And Amtrak's 15-year plan to rehabilitate the trains and railways of the USA - especially again in California.
