People are drawn to him like moths to a light." Bruce Springsteen performed "Waitin' On A Sunny Day"--from his 9-11 album, "The Rising"--in 2012. {No, I was not there.... I've watched the YouTube video with my two-year old niece, "Opal".... A lot!! Not complaining!!} During that particular performance of "Waitin' On A Sunny Day", Bruce had a young girl sing its chorus. She did great!! When this kid was done singing, Bruce shouted out.... "Vancouver {British Columbia} has talent!!" Well, I can say the same exact thing for your oldest boy!! Max has talent!! Maybe he will be a performer.... An actor.... Or a comedian someday!! Sorry Max.... Or maybe he will be a fireman someday!! ;-D
"Exceptional doesn't have to mean in comparison to anyone; you can be exceptional in your own right." Very good. Very, very, very good!! Do you have any idea how much I needed--how much my heart and soul needed--to read/hear these words?! For I often do not see my own talents, abilities and gifts, because of Self-Pity, because of comparison to others.... I am working on that!! ;)
"Stay hard, stay hungry, stay alive", Raelyn
Mary Louhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01005199691237610718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-66992686571652292132016-09-13T10:37:43.412-04:002016-09-13T10:37:43.412-04:00Ender-Chan....

And keep us updated on whether or not--prayers sent, fingers crossed--you qualify!! ;-D
I, too, like your phrase.... It is brilliant.... Just like you!! Use that phrase repeatedly, over and over and over.... On your Blogs.... In Life.... At school.... With your friends.... At home.... It could definitely catch on!! ;)
"Everyone possesses their own set of aptitudes and motivations." Speaking of performance, I have a shot at two solos in youth symphony. They may be my first public solos within an ensemble.

Every variant of the phrase "Everyone is gifted in their own way" grates my nerves. That phrase suggests that all there is to giftedness is aptitude. NO. Phrases like these hurt gifted people by downplaying the nature of giftedness. Do people really want the fragile self-worth, anxiety, and frustration that comes as part of the package (pun semi-intended)?

A Better Phrase:
"Everyone possesses their own set of aptitudes and motivations."
