Like Max, Nicholas never got tested, that is until he reached high school. We came to a really great arrangement there in which he was given an oral (shortened) version of the tests and homework every night, plus assignments, etc. (of his choosing, but relevant to the subject). The teachers filled out the IEP but they also gave Nick his own report card with grades based on homework, assignments and tests (all modified). At the end of high school, he won a city-wide award for academic perseverance and a high school certificate of completion (he did not actually 'graduate'). After high school, he continued to take distance courses with help, of course. Things like 'the study of sports online' LOL. I think ALL your beautiful kids have a very bright future. Most colleges will emphasize testing in how they accept student achievement and if students retained and learned the material. That might be what the teacher/principal wants.

I happen to agree with the teachers method if that is the desired goal and what the reasoning behind the decision to rate testing at 90%. You have to think too if the reasoning is also part of state requirements in state testing and what the school wants in the test score data that is published.Colinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09471958774039208523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-32029862276195822192018-07-03T21:21:23.978-04:002018-07-03T21:21:23.978-04:00Right?! Even in high school it was usually only 20%.Kathrynnoreply@blogger.com
