I have hearing loss, wear a hearing ...Hi Meredith,<br />I have hearing loss, wear a hearing aid and use an FM system in school. I'm unable to comment on your blog, so I hope you will see this. I'm not sure how old you are but if you are still in school, an FM system is very helpful along with hearing aids. I was 5 when I got mine so I really was not nervous. Considering you are at Boston Children's, I'm sure the audiologist will walk through it all with you. It can feel really weird at first but you get used to it after a while. I have a Behind the Ear hearing aid with a soft mold. I strongly recommend a soft mold. Socially you will get questions and stares, but a strong group of friends come in handy. For me, saying "It helps me hear, I have hearing loss." and (for the FM) "The teacher wears it to send sound right to my hearing aid." Educationally, I am assuming based on your other disabilities, you have a 504 plan or IEP. If you get an FM that will be on there. I recommend also getting "preferential/close to front or instruction seating"(how it is listed in my 504). If you have any questions, reply below. Good Luck! :) Kathrynnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-3300930691480838412015-05-15T21:26:03.867-04:002015-05-15T21:26:03.867-04:00I had to submit mine twice just FYI I had to submit mine twice just FYI Max .Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10904861794391197803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-388862637374336062015-05-15T21:07:18.945-04:002015-05-15T21:07:18.945-04:00My post is about me most likely getting hearing ai...My post is about me most likely getting hearing aids and being VERY NERVOUS!!!Max .Shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10904861794391197803noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-23473256000115042052015-05-15T18:44:58.815-04:002015-05-15T18:44:58.815-04:00I've never participated in this linkup before ...I've never participated in this linkup before -- thanks!
