  1. I've just stumbled upon your blog recently...and I'm totally in love with it already! My little guy has very recently been diagnosed with CP, I am a Special Ed. teacher myself...and your blog has become essential night-time reading for me. Thank you!!

  2. Hi Ellen and everyone else! My post is about how hard I'm fighting to get my girl what she needs in the public schools!

  3. Yay! Can't wait to read all of these great posts! My offering this week is light, a tutorial inspired by "Jasmine's" top from the show Parenthood. I only started watching because of the boy with autism portrayed in the show.

  4. I posted two (I think!) - the first is a letter to my son, Brian. He has an older brother, Gavin, with special needs - but I wanted to acknowledge HIS special needs, too. The second is called "Reclaiming Me" - it's a post that's been on my mind a lot lately. I'm finishing up selling or giving away all of the baby things I've held onto after a very (HUGELY) unsuccessful journey to have a third child.

    xoxo, Ellen!

  5. What a great idea! I'm not sure if I did it right so my link may not show. I wrote an article for Autism Empowerment on Special Powers? Moms Trump Superheroes Every Time. I'm a mom of an adult child with Aspergers Syndrome and I've had to become his caped crusader to get him what he needs to thrive. I'm no different than any mom who has a child with special needs.

  6. Thanks for the link! Hope it's ok that I shared something my husband wrote :-) I write for WebMD once a month and this month I asked him to write about being married to someone with a chronic illness. It's our Marfan love story :-)

  7. Hello! This is my first time using this link-up (since we just launched our blog) and i think i did it wrong :( I haven't had my coffee and didn't read the instructions, i'm really sorry!(mistake is in #28) I re-uploaded the link and I tried the tool to remove the wrong one but it didn't work...but anyways! My post is about how technology is helping children with special needs and what other future technologies could change their lives :)

  9. Well, I didn't see that IEP meeting coming. Sheeeeesh.

    *facepalm*

Anyway. Good news: the NDSS linked up the Down syndrome Blogs site, so hopefully more parents of kids with Ds will be able to connect and find each other. YAY! We are running a Blogger in the Spotlight series now. I'm going to go ahead and add your blog to the blogroll under "general disabilities" because you do blog about Ds from time to time and our communities intersect. I will also be hitting you up later for the SPOTLIGHT, haha! Fair warning! Hide now!
