The Love That Max Year In Review 2011 and a blog hop!

In February, he showed off some crazy dance moves.

In March, I said goodbye to my dad. I also tweeted at people who used the word "retard" and got all sorts of responses.

In April, I did not buy Max purple Crocs. In an unrelated incident, Max said "That stinks!"

In July, Max aced his first time away at sleepaway camp, and I introduced the Mommy Is A Poopiehead speech program and The Spaghetti Manifesto.

In September, we revealed our special needs mom superpowers.

In October, I centered my life around Max—but I also tried not to. Then I disclosed the top special needs mom fantasies.

What was memorable to you in 2011? Feel free to share links to one (or a few!) posts from your blog. In the first line, write the title of your post and in the second line, cut and paste the direct URL to the post.

Happy New Year, friends!

  3. I love your look back at 2011! I linked to my "Best of 2011", which I chose based on the number of comments on the posts (most commented = most popular = best of). But I kind of like your recap system too . . . maybe next year :)

  4. Well, I think I messed up the link the first time...sorry for the double post! One of my favorite posts from last year is when Elena told me that she was teased in school (regarding her CP) and she DIDN'T fall apart. Super proud mom moment there!

  5. I think the new year's post is probably one of my favorites - it's great to see how far our children have come. Sounds like you guys had a great year. Cheers to 2012!

  6. I posted our Top 10 for 2011 back on Dec. 23, but saved the #1 for New Years Day (I updated the Dec. 23 post with a link to the New Year's Post so you can click through). What a fun idea!

By the way, in my Christmas stocking I got a magazine. As I was reading an article that was referring to "Max" I kept thinking "that sounds familiar." Of course, it was by you. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was fun to find you on Christmas morning.

    Happy New Year!

  9. It's amazing how much happens in a year, even though it seems to pass in an instant.

  10. Ellen, you are a great inspiration to me in so many ways. And so is Max. He had a great year and I hope 2012 is filled with new adventures for your entire family.

  12. I just started blogging, so I don't have too many moments to share yet. I linked up Trevor making Cinnamon Dough Ornaments, because he had so much fun making them and they made wonderful gifts for his therapists. The 2 greatest memories we had in 2011 though were seeing him take his first steps (in May once he got his SMOs) and hearing him say "Mommy" (just started that a few weeks ago!)

  14. My favorite moment from 2011 was when Mason took his first unassisted steps in November at the age of 2 years 9 months. Nothing could top that!

  18. I liked many posts but I think my favorite was the cheez doodle post.

One striking memory this year is that I started to get involved with social media and discovered some great blogs like this one and met wonderful new people in Tweetland. I'm looking forward to more in 2012!
