At least the "r" word used to have different connotations and, as it develops new, insulting ones, is falling out of usage and approval. "Photo wrecker" is just plain mean and has always been mean. Had never heard of it until today. How unbelievably cruel.Rachaelnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-51400563203146490182011-09-28T18:27:50.944-04:002011-09-28T18:27:50.944-04:00Phew. That video. To her credit, she immediately apologized only to have another woman say that it was okay cause she didn't know there was parents of children with disabilities in the group.

Since when has that made a difference?

It is wrong to use the word, no matter who you are talking to.Jacquihttp://www.terriblepalsy.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-33683490096764679672011-09-28T14:43:02.484-04:002011-09-28T14:43:02.484-04:00I have just found your amazing blog. My son has quadripegelic cerebral palsy, and i have just started a feature called 'The Disability Diaries - The Life of J1' on my blog, as I am desperately trying to just raise awareness of how difficult all the little day to day things are for people with disabilities. If people just had more of an understanding they may just be a little more tolerant. This blog is amazing, it is what I would aspire to achieve with mine someday and will look forward to keeping up with the posts. It makes life better knowing that there are others with similar family lives and views. I have proudly put your badge on my site and hope others take time out to visit.Lynsey Summershttp://lynseythemotherduck.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-74468560298789031872011-09-28T13:18:57.959-04:002011-09-28T13:18:57.959-04:00Like Mo commented, I also had to look up "pho...Like Mo commented, I also had to look up "photo wrecker." It infuriates me that words and phrases like this exist, and, like you, wish that people would think before they speak!

On a somewhat positive note, though, I voted "thumbs down" on the site page for that term, and I noticed that it had 8 other "thumbs down" votes before me. That's hopeful, at least, I guess.Sabrina Steylinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10502908654294596013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-76596557891692367222011-09-28T10:34:10.204-04:002011-09-28T10:34:10.204-04:00I must live under a rural rock. For me, this term hurts far more than 'retarded' does.Mohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10083710958029714414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-23256482608731286912011-09-28T10:16:52.720-04:002011-09-28T10:16:52.720-04:00I think Sabrina and Max already have such a relati...I think Sabrina and Max already have such a relationship.
