I want to race with my special needs nephew.I'm 20 and want to lose some weight, and I want him to meet more kids like him. He was born with half of a brain and hydrocephalus. He's visually impaired and slightly deaf in both ears. He can't walk or talk, but he knows how to make noise to get our attention. One thing for sure, he knows how to signal no :). If anyone could email me at Taylorhudson45@gmail.com about any information on these races would be awesome. Thanks for sharing this awesome story, I can tell these races have big impacts on the adults and kids lives. I can't wait to share running again with my son C2, after he hit 5 he became too big for a store bought jogger and he was no longer able to join me on the road. There is a similar organization called "Push To The Finish" they organize lots of races in Utah and this past weekend on September 15th they organized a 5K/10K Race in Madison NJ with PAN (Pediatric Angel Network). It was great! Check out their website for future events: www.pushtothefinish.org<br />EMBelievehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17830672452811001479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-16495426180017822932013-09-17T10:41:30.115-04:002013-09-17T10:41:30.115-04:00This comes at an awesome time! She has diplegia and minimal verbalization but knows sign language. I take her running/walking, when I walk she will yell and sign "run" even when I tell her I am too tired! she laughs! She also loves to wave at other runners and bikers. When she falls walking and gets right back up only to just fall again, truly inspiring, if she can keep going so can I!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-401303964563152307.post-34433830847611868002013-09-17T09:42:47.176-04:002013-09-17T09:42:47.176-04:00such a positive story - thank you!
