A good iPad case for kids with special needs: giveaway!

A good iPad case for kids with special needs is hard to find. This I know because we've been through a bunch, and none of them were easy for Max to grasp. Then Max's speech therapist at school recommended the Gripcase, the company sent me one and a stand to trial, and we are in love.

The case is really easy for a kid with fine-motor skills to grasp, because of the cut-out design. It's super lightweight—7.05 ounces, made of some high-tech foam. It's shock resistant, and has bounced impressively when Max has accidentally dropped it. It's easily washable. Also key (for us, anyway): It comes in purple! As well as black, blue, green and red. It fits 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation iPads. The one add-on you might want to consider is a clear screen protector, in case your child drools.

The back of the case

Max totes his Gripcase into a restaurant. As if he's headed to a business lunch! You know, like any exec who wears shorts and Lighting McQueen sneakers.

I'm giving away two Gripcases in your child's choice of color.

One is donated by the company, one I'm buying. Each case is worth $39. You can enter below; the giveaway ends 5/22/2013 at 11:59 p.m. (see "Terms and Conditions" for more information).

  1. We would LOVE a case like this for my youngest son, Sam, who has speech delays. He always wants to use the iPad but I am so afraid he will drop it. I have 5 kids in total and all have special needs of one kind or another.
    Thanks :)

  2. This case would be a lifesaver! Our Jaxon loves all things technology, but doesn't quite have the gross motor skills (or coordination) to handle them. Jaxon would love the case in blue or red (if available)!

  3. This case would save me some serious anxiety. My daughter uses the iPad for speech but she is a thrower so we have to constantly have our hands on it or it hits the floor.

  15. Oh goodness! All this time I've been sighing and then telling myself not to waste time looking at reviews of apps and cases, because we didn't have an i-anything. A friend is planning to buy Ash a refurbished iPad3, and suddenly I need to be prepared to make the most of and protect it! This would be wonderful....and, without a doubt, blue!

  36. This would be awesome - my girl tends to hold it by the screen which, of course, makes it wonky. Had an otter box for a while, which saved the ipad when it flew off the top of my car onto to the freeway shoulder, but my husband then bought a military style one which is not so awesome. Would love to try this (in blue!).

She is 7 years old, she had Quad CP, Seizure Disorder and CVID and is homebound for school and does everything via the computer/Skype. She works withs her therapist on her IPad and it would be great to have a case with handles instead of sand-bagging it on her table. She is the Pink Queen, but she could live with purple too :-), thanks. Andrea
